Price reduced after purchase

I bought an item from River Island online.

The returns information states
Returning a web orderItems bought from River Island online can be returned to our stores within one month of your order date.

Since the purchase date the item has been reduced in price and today the store would only refund the current selling price and not the full price I paid. I am still within 1 month of my order date.

Do you have your order invoice? What do the rest of the t&cs say.

As what they are offering is above your statutory rights, so read them thoroughly about reduced goods.
  • You should have been refunded the full price. Does the invoice not state the order price? If so, this may be why they offered you a lower price, if they are not able to verify how much you paid.

Pop it back in the post - it is free and you'll definitely get the full amount then. Remember to get proof of posting from the PO.

Yes I had the confirmation of what I paid on the printed invoice that came in the parcel.

You aren't trying to buy the same item at the reduced price are you?

Why would you take offence? I was going to say you would have to let them know of your intention to return within 7 days to invoke DSR.

I have had arguments with retailers before who have reduced prices even before items are posted and will still not give you the discount which is petty on the retailers part as you just return them under DSR anyway.

A shop will refund the current selling price as if the scan the barcode that is the price they will see.

By returning it to the point of supply, they have to refund the price you paid, invoking DSR if required.

DSRs do not seem to apply here. I would guess that the time for that has expired. This is about their 1 month returns policy
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

    What date did it arrive?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
