Natwest/MSE Eligibility Checker

in Credit cards
Hiya,
I'm looking at applying for a 0% purchase credit card with my own bank (Natwest). They have a criteria on all their cards that you must be earning at least £10k a year.
I'm a student who also works part time with an income of around £5000. I used the MSE Eligibility Checker, and a Natwest card came top with a score of about 90% (I stated that I was working part time and entered my income).
So I was wondering what peoples experiences are with applying to their own bank, and whether they are strict with current customers on this income criteria? The checker is showing that I have a high chance of acceptance despite not earning enough so wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation?
Thanks

If Natwest say you must earn a min of £10k then it has to be that.0

Banks can make exceptions to rules, but I wouldn't even considered applying online. I would go into your branch and speaking to someone, such as the accounts manager.
I think the authority of bank managers etc, now is less than it used to be, but that IMO would be your only chance.
Perhaps others can tell you of any other cards you might have a chance of getting. However generally 0% cards are normally reserved for long term customers, who have a half decent income and a very good/excellent credit profile.0 -
Mbna gave me a 0% on purchases for 18 months with a standard apr after that of 15.9%, with just over a year's credit history excepting an overdraft I'd had for a few years prior. According to some people on here mbna give out 0% cards like chocolate bars, so their pre application checker might be worth a punt.Oh, you wee bazza!0
