Visiting York

Hey everyone,
I was really hoping that some of you may be able to help out here as I've exhausted my Google/Thrift searching talents.
We visit York quite a lot, however usually it's only a P&R day visit, so we've decided to stay the night and make a few days of it.
As we're frequent visitors, we've done all of the usual touristy visits and eating establishments, however we're hoping to visit somewhere new and interesting.
Has anyone got any idea's on places to go, see and eat?
It'll be 2 adults and a baby (14 months old), so can't try out the Ghost Walks
Looking forward to hearing from you all
Many thanks
Gav

Have you been to the new (ish) chocolate story? What about a river cruise or picnic in museum gardens?Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0

Hey there,
We haven't been to the chocolate story yet, so that could be an interesting one.
Thanks for the suggestions, I've been scouring loads of sites for Groupon/Living Social or normal deals that can be used to make the stay a little more interesting, but nothing as of yet
Thanks again0 -
May not be your cup of tea but the National Railway Museum is good and its free.
The chocolate story is pretty good too and you get to taste some samples. There are some great street entertainers in York. We spent ages sitting and listening to guy called Ed Alleyne Johnson ,look him up on you tube, he is in York a fair bit.
We also enjoyed the Yorvik centre and they also have a big wheel, its a smaller verion of the London Eye.I know its the usual touristy bits but we would do them again. I think eating out in York is pretty expensive but on the whole quality was fine.0
