I would avoid this product like the plague. If it does work ionizers always attract the dirt around them. That and fans blowing stick dirt into a computer (actually closest earth point of the ionizer) can't be good.
Often for a good metre around home ionisers, there is a layer of dust, so any papers that sit around will get dusty too.
Got someone you dislike, but have to buy a Christmas present for

I didn't need the other 8 characters required for minimum post length, so I'm typing this.0 -
Ionisers are of dubious worth anyway, but one that runs at 5v 500mA is going to be the nastiest and least effective of its kind. Ever tried a USB keyboard vacuum for instance, useless. May as well just send me the fiver.0

What a pity that this 'scam of the day' doesn't say how it works.
It isn't going to be able to provide much in the way of ionisation with the 5V DC provided by the USB socket. Does it just contain a tiny fan to blow a little air through the holes? Is there any form of filter?
I think the OP should buy one, take it apart, and reveal all (not that there will be much in the way of content to reveal)...

I used to have an ioniser that was on 24/7.
Then one day it was switched off and I never noticed that it was not switched on.
Never noticed any difference in air quality either.
They are a waste of money.
in my opinionGetting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -
Having 'Ionised' air around electronic components in general is never a good idea.
Ionised air is 'charged' air and so it *may* cause problems and micro-shorts in some electronic components.Laters

Snake oil is much better beside computer0

I hope it makes a quiet buzzing noise! That shows it's working!
Wonder what they use to make the buzzing sound?
Let's say whatever it is costs 1p in bulk, then about .25p for the LED, and say 4p for the USB flash drive case. Assembly should only be a minute or two in a makeshift backroom 'factory'.
Nice markup

If you want to buy it, make sure you get a £100 HDMI cable for the ultimate quality as well
