Bad engine

Hi. I recently bought a second hand engine from a breakers yard.
They verbally guaranteed it. Give me an invoice and a 30 day warranty. I'm sure I can get my money back for the engine.
But it cost me 150 pounds to get fitted. Can I claim that back?

It's highly unlikely they would agree to this. Most breakers will offer a short guarantee as they are equally aware there is a risk the component has been damaged. This is a risk you should also be aware of also.0

You pays your money and takes a chance from a breakers yard.0

Was it possible for you to test it before fitting it?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

If you want a warranty on the whole lot inc labour, you pay a garage to do the job.
You did it on the cheap and have found the caveat - you'll be out of pocket should something like this happen. Better luck next time.

so lets see if i go this right
you purchased an engine from a scrapyard wreck
You paid £150 to have the engine fitted
you want to claim the £150 back.
WHY? you have not explained anything apart from what i have listed above0 -
Well, they want to claim it back because it doesn't work.
Doing so will be difficult though.0
