My DGS Ben is due back from Reading later on today He's been at the festival since last Wednesday and I think his Mum said she will hose him down before letting him through the door :):) as they were camping in a big bunch of lads together.I hope he enjoyed himself I shall see him tomorrow if he surfaces before lunchtime :):)
Weather is gorgeous but I'm indoors doing the ironing mountain.I don't mind as the roads in Kent on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday will be chokka anyway :):)Blackberring with the three youngest is on the agenda for tomorrow

    Afternoon all,

Not a BH here, our August one is first Monday, makes no real difference to us since we retired. DD4 is back to work to-day, DGS2 not back until Wed so is here with us, has been eating since he arrived!

Warm but very overcast and no rain so a pleasant day, might do some cutting back of stuff this afternoon, or may continue with decluttering the paperwork, or may just sit and knit....decisions, decisions.

Chicken with roast veg and potatoes for dinner, yogurt for pudding, there are apples and bananas if that doesn't suit anyone.

Long chat with DD3 3 this morning....she is very stiff having done a 12k run yesterday over a very hilly route, she is not coming home for Christmas this year as DS1, DDIL1 and DGD2 are going to her, she will come in February when fares have dropped a bit.

Going to make an apple tart to cook while oven is on, trying to use up as many apples as I can before the wasps eat them all, they like the cookers just as much as eaters, so it will be a battle which I intend to win....don't mind them having some, but they are greedy so-and-sos. Might be a good idea to put on the oven....

Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday, stay safe and well

I literally had to scrub my older son's feet when he came home a couple of years ago as it had been so muddy. DS2 came home today too but was relatively clean - he is asleep in bed now. His dad went to collect him and his mates and said they were asleep 5 mins into the journey.....all together now.....aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh xxx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yes - I am around still! I manage to read most days though posting hasn't happened here for ages.

Life ticks by, nothing major to complain about and a whole shed full of stuff to be happy about.

OS also slipped a bit though I am running the freezer stocks down and have been for about 2 months. There is stuff in there which will never be eaten but I haven't reached it yet. SO much lambs liver! So many chicken breasts! As we plan to move back to Scotland next year I want it all gone.

Been in Glasgow this weekend to visit my mum. Took her to the House for an Art Lover which was lovely and then we strolled through the huge old walled garden which was even lovelier. Had planned to go to watch a friend do the Great Scottish Swim at Loch Lomond but I slept in - not known for sleeping late so that's just odd!

Have defrosted and am cooking an assortment of sausages from what is meant to be the best sausage maker in the NE. Who knows, but the wee shop in Boldon was very tempting so I had bought loads.

Good to keep up with everyone's lives, stories and adventures of all shades.

    Evening all,

Finding really hard to get motivated, back to work tomorrow and I REALLY don,t want to go back - I enjoy my actual work, but the politics are getting over whelming, so many staff off with stress, which puts pressure on others - I,ve had 2 weeks off and I don,t think I,ve had a full nights sleep in all that time worrying about going back - I should be grateful to have a bloomin job I know, but I just want to stay in my happy little home, with my family....

    Sorry to moan x

Have managed to do all the holiday washing, a tonne of ironing to do,but as most of it is holiday wear I may just put it away unironed as I doubt if we will wear much of it this year.

Had lasagne made with courgette strips instead of pasta, was a bit wet,but tasty.

LW - your guests are gorg by the way x

Have a fab evening all x

  • Hi all,
Was up and out early this morning as I had to be up at High Hauxley (near Amble, so a 35 min drive up the coast) for 9am!
Spent the day manning my stall at the Hauxley Fun Day. It was fantastic! I was the only craft stall there, so was very busy! There was a band, BBQ, dog show, sandcastle competition, tombolas, bric a brac, a fortune teller and a face painter! The place was packed and it was boiling hot, so I've come back rather sunburnt! But I made £94 on my stall so I am absolutely over the moon! Add that to the £30 I made at yesterday's craft market and I'm a very happy bunny!
All needs to go in the bank tomorrow into my business account as I need to buy more materials soon.
I need to go and bake a coffee cake for BF's dad's birthday tomorrow, but I can't be bothered! Oh dear, suppose I should drag my poor burnt self into the kitchen!
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
