hi, were planning on recarpeting our house, and I have been told that the best thing to do is get good quality underlay and then an average carpet,
what size is a good quality for underlay, and I am planning to buy it online so any advice on cheap suppliers would be appreciated.
i'm no expert on carpets but would like a more hard wearing one for the hall and stairs to the lounge and bedrooms, whats a good hard wearing carpet, and what would be good to use for the bedrooms and lounge.
we live in Halesowen west midlands, and have 2 young children and no pets.
thanks
colin

Dreamwalk is good. I think that's what it's called. Research this forum. Lots of online suppliers which are cheaper than stores0

Best bet is to look around in a good carpet shop or chat to the sales people. They have different quality carpets for different rooms and can also advise on underlay rather than guess which you feel would be suitable.
Also quality of carpet depends on your budget, a wool carpet will not compact down on the pile where a carpet made from man made.
fibres will flatten down during use and look more used/walked on.
You need a good carpet for high traffic rooms but less robust for bedrooms (deepening on whether it is child's or adult room).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
