MBNA questionaire

Options
Hi

I am hoping someone can help (:fingers crossed:). MBNA have written to me out of the blue with a questionnaire regarding PPI stating that I may have been missold a policy. The card in question was taken out in 2009 and to be truthful I can't remember anything about it. Are there "correct" answers to the questions which could mean I could get a share of the pot??

Thanks in advance. :)
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.

    Hi

Short answer, no. There is no silver bullet answer which is going to get you money.

If you make a complaint then you are complaining that a product was mis-sold to you. Basically that you were either given unsuitable advice to purchase it, or that you were given misleading information regarding the product which resulted in you purchasing an unsuitable product. They would then need to review the complaint according to its merits. However, it is difficult to do this if you don't remember anything whatsoever about it.

The fact that you have received a questionnaire and a letter doesn't mean you have necessarily been mis-sold a policy. It is simply advising you of your right to raise a complaint should you believe that you have. You don't have to make a complaint if you're not unhappy. The main purpose of it is so that in three years time they will be able to timebar any further complaints and draw a line under the issue.

I will say that MBNA have an extremely high uphold rate at FOS which obviously indicates that their sales processes weren't all that cop. But if you are proposing to complain about the info you were given when taking out the policy, only you can give your complaint reasons.
  • Thanks for that ... like I said as this was taken out in 2009 I can not remember much other than I would have taken it out over the phone when I opened the card. What are the main reasons that ppi was missold?

There is a link on this site that gives a list of reasons. But I'm not allowed to post links as a "new" contributor.Clicks the "reclaim £1,000s" link above and then click the "reclaim PPI for free" sub link.
  • Thanks for the help :)
