Yeah, thank you, thats exactly what I mean! We knocked out an old cupboard next to the fireplace and the only way we are ever going to get the walls looking decent is to get someone in. Hubby knows someone who may do this on the cheap for us though.
Thanks for your tips, too Spider. Lots to think about there. I think we are going to have a trip to some of the big DIY places and get some ideas. I have been looking on ebay for furniture and will keep an eye on this to see if we can pick up some bargains.
I think its going to end up being a combination of tarting up what we have now and buying some things new but if we are clever about it I think we can do it within our budget.0
