Looking to book a holiday cottage on behalf of my mother. Reputable websites?

This would be a cottage in Yorkshire, for several people. My mother wants me to find a good deal, but obviously since I have never considered cottages myself in the past nor do I know anyone who has stayed in one recently (or booked one online) where do I look online? Sykescottages.co.uk looked like a reasonable website?

Sykes in my experience tend to be the cheaper end, cottages 4 you are ok but is still an agency so you will get a better deal direct with the owner.
Owners direct or independent cottages, you can usually get a feel from photos as to how good a property is.
Our holiday cottage is in Yorkshire but it sounds as if it will be too small for you.
Give me a shout if I can help any more.Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0 -
We've used Ingrid Flute for a few years now and always been happy with them - and they are specific to Yorkshire

However, as with most holiday cottage companies, you need to bear in mind they are only acting as agents for the individual owners....0 -

Hoseasons or English country cottages. Even better, use them to find a cottage, get address through google whatever and contact them direct-you'll get it cheaper as they don't have to pay the agency commission-about 30% from memory.0

...because it allows me to advertise my holiday cottage.
Clumsy atempt, soon to disappear.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -

PS: Not an agency so no hidden fee's to you. I think of it as more of an online directory........?0 -

Ha Ha ! for some reason my brain split that website up as
'Govilla Sand cottages' - I now have an image in my mind that I can't get rid of of a Godzilla-style giant Japanese dinosaur on a beach with a bucket and spade making sand castles .....0 -
Hi we use a variety of websites including the Discover Yorkshire Coast website which shows many self catering accommodations
We have recently returned from a weekend away at a lovely cottage in Filey advertised on here. Mill Farm Cottages Filey, they were perfectly located, luxurious and spotless.
Definitely worth looking here for holidays away!0 -
