Hope someone can help !!!
In 2004 I took out a loan against my property with Paragon Personal Finance with PPI supplied BY FREEDOM FINANCE ,Im pretty sure I have a case to answer but every where Ive turned I ve been told I haven't as freedom are now bust and Paragon weren't registered properly until 2005 or 2006
Please put me out of my misery one way or another !
many thanks

You are out of luck.
They wouldn't have been regulated prior to Janaury 14th 2005, so you couldn't have used the FOS and because they sold it to you before this date, you can't use the FSCS either.

It's not really a matter of whether you've a case to answer. More the fact that there's nobody to answer it.
If you took the loan through Paragon Personal Finance, you would have dealt with their representative meaning any mis-selling complaint would be against them. However, as general insurance was not FSA regulated until 2005, they can dismiss it out of hand and FOS can't intervene.
No joy on this one I'm afraid.0
