Advice re repair after accident.

Hi I recently purchased a silver 2003 Honda Crv FSH and 1 year Warranty from a Honda dealer. Everthing was great until I was hit in the rear, I'd only had the car 27 days.

Anyway I used an accident management co reccomended by the repairer that Honda approved and all seemed to go very smoothly.

The problem I have got is that i collected my car last week from the repairer and it looked ok. After I had it home a couple of days I noticed that the front passenger door is a aslightly different silver from the rest of the car! My husband also noticed it the previous day but thought it was his imagination.

What can I do about this as i am really not happy. I am sure that it was not like that when i took it to the repairer, but how can i prove it if he denies it. I had to wait an extra week as they said they were still awaiting parts and i wonder if they damaged my door and resprayed it thinking i wouldn't notice? I would appreciate any suggestions as to how i should approach the repairer.

I would speak to the dealer and see what they say. Just to clarify you were hit in the rear but its the passenger door thats different? Have you got details of the work carried out on the car while it was in the garage? It may be more probable that the door was like that when you bought the car but isnt that visible normally?

It has crossed our minds that we may not have noticed it before, but it is quite noticeable and my husband said he checked the car out for this kind of thing before we bought it.

How should i approach the dealer? as i imagine he will denie it aswell as he said it hadn't been in an accident, confirmed by HPI. I'm really gutted as we had 30 days to exchange it and didn't notice it! and it's really bugging me now.

While i agree it could have been like it before, i can't understand how we both noticed it independently once the car was returned yet neither of us noticed it before. My gut feeling is that the repairer damaged it. He had my car for 2 weeks when he said he only needed 1 to complete the repairs. The repair centre is very small and all the cars are tightly packed in.

have you taken any photos since you had the car of it that you could maybe look at

I would ring the dealer up and explain your concerns and see if they noticed anything. You have nothing to lose?!

I agree with hjb123,ask them.Be aware though that colours can look diferent in certain lights,a friend had a red car and one panel looked a different colour under street lights but perfect in daylight.It is possible that you did not notice it before, i did it once myselfi,i.e noticed one wing was slightly different after owning the car for several weeks and i am usually paranoid about these things!!

take it to another body shop and get an opinion on whether the door has been sprayed and if so how long ago.
