It means I do more running around than I'd have to otherwise: I either go home on the bus / train or drive home and then back to get DH.
But we do have good transport links, at least until 7 pm, so it's not so bad.
Then we downsized the car, from a massive Saab with a cavernous boot to a Yaris, on the grounds that we very rarely had the five of us plus luggage in the car. And our reasoning went "we can always hire a larger car if we need to." Initially we didn't get into that habit, but now we hire one whenever we want the five of us plus luggage in the car! That's usually at Christmas, which is pricey because we have to hire for longer than at other times, because of their closure, but still cheaper than running a large car (or two small cars) all year round.Signature removed for peace of mind0
