Return postage to send item back...

Hi all,
Just looking for quick clarification.
My father in law bought car mats from this website:
http://www.uk-carmats.co.uk/home.php
Unfortunately, even although they were described for the make/model/year of his car, they didn't fit.
We contacted them and have sent back for a refund, which cost £12.
Will they refund this money too or is this a hit we take?
Thanks

If they have sent you something different to what you ordered, then they must cover the cost of the return.
If they have sent you what you ordered, but the item is mis-described, i.e. they do not fit the car they say they will, then again they must cover the cost of the return.
Strictly, you only need to make the goods available for their collection... after having told them that, of course.0 -
Thanks.
The description was for a certain model/year of car, which is what we ordered, yet they still didn't fit, so I'd say not as described.
We have packaged them up and sent them already, how do we go about obtaining the full refund including return postage?
Thanks

Well, re-reading your original post, it doesn't look like you have even asked them to refund the cost of returning them.
That would be the first thing to do.
Have they agreed the goods do not perform as they should?0 -
We emailed the company to say that we had received the mats but unfortunately they did not fit the specific vehicle.
They replied saying 'Please return mats to xx address, and put your name and address inside the package'.
All the terms and conditions seem to be in a different language?! So can't see what they say about it.

The FAQ's all have the same thing written in latin:
"We will be sure to post a comment. Tourism Bureau's propaganda playing outdoor television. Welcome to the porch electric costs, please look at the ugly quiver settings. But the price was a member, or employee of the finalists. For now, my, put down the brush, and the grid, basketball is a lot of hatred. Each child, the ecological balance of loans, the company wants to exchange television, trading of mass propaganda and alcohol. But not free immigration. Visas is, or more, chocolate, pain threshold."

I assume by accepting the return (and which the 'fault' was described in the email), that this is agreeing they are not performing as they should?

So they haven't actually said they'll refund you?
How did you pay, by debit or credit card?
If you have problems getting your money back from the company, consider using your card issuer's chargeback process.

Possibly.

In the email we sent them, we stated that we wanted to return them for a refund.
Thank you - will check out the link and keep it in mind.
I'm pretty sure it was a debit card - will need to check with inlaws. Is there a difference as to whether it was a debit or credit?

No, no difference in this context.hieveryone wrote: »I'm pretty sure it was a debit card - will need to check with inlaws. Is there a difference as to whether it was a debit or credit?0
