Pub/restaurant near Chester/Wrexham

I know I can look on tripadvisor and I have but can anyone give a personal recommendation for somewhere to eat out within a ten miles ish radius of Chester/Wrexham that's good value for money/large portions. Taking two hungry teenagers out for a meal. :rotfl:

Thanks

Actually in Chester itself, down by the river is Hickorys Smokehouse. Very good barbecue food and served really quickly. I was in Chester for a week last year and ate there twice, very nice indeed I thought.

I can recommend 'the wheatsheaf' at Mollington, approx 3 miles from Chester. Look at their website, 'crown carveries'. Superb value, choice of meats then unlimited amounts of roasters, veg's, and trimmings. Adult £4.19, children cheaper though of the top of my head I don't know the age limit. There is also a Toby Carvery just outside Chester....£5.99 I think. Again, just search on their website. Both places also serve other meals from the menu....we always have the carvery, puds can be added on at a discount if you have a meal.
  • Had a meal at Stamford Bridge Inn well good and fair price its on Tarvin Road, Tarporley CH3 7HN about 4 Miles from Chester.
  • I always eat at Plas Coch in Wrexham - 2 for 1 on the main menu, last night we had 2 8oz steaks with all the trimmings for £13. Very friendly people, excellent choices and Ive never been disappointed yet.
I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.
    Bipolar for all
