Add extra shipping to invoice

Hi.

Probably should have looked at this before, but nevermind - I made an exception for someone outside of the UK to bid on an item but due to having 1 bid could not add postage costs.

When I send an invoice how do I add the extra cost of shipping to another country?

I read on the ebay forums the only way to let them bid was through making an exception so I did, but now I've read you can't add extra shipping, but some say you can for international so bit confused.

So long as they are registered in another country ebay will recognise this and when you send an invoice it will say international (or similar) and a blank space for you to put the price.

Oh right. Thanks, that's ok then.

Really wish I'd found just a bit earlier about shipping elsewhere. Bid was put on around the same time so I didn't quite manage to add the costs soon enough lol.

My business account mainly sells BIN items so I have postage set up for UK, Europe and worldwide. That way when buyers BIN an item they can't win it until they pay, and the invoice automatically picks up the postage from their country.

It also works for my free postage items , it registers free for buyers in the UK opting for economy delivery, but automatically adds any enhanced faster service in the UK or airmail if buyer is abroad.

Saves a lot of my time and is very straightforward.

Yep. In future I'll be able to set it up with any other postage costs if I am happy to send elsewhere, but I have always said UK only previously and have never posted elsewhere or been asked to until a day or so ago.

I would have just added in the cost to the one country for the person but someone bid on the item like a minute or so before I knew the cost and went to add it.

I understand ebay not wanting you change the postage within the UK after a bid as you could suddenly raise it and that wouldn't be fair, but I don't get why they don't let you add international postage after a bid. It wouldn't have made any difference to the person who'd already bid.
