car leasing advice

Options
Hi people this is probably going to sound really daft but I am looking to get me wife a new car and have decided to lease. The question I wanted to ask is as im self employed and classed as a business will I be able to get the business prices of leasing or will I have to get tje personal price.
Thanks for looking and hope someone can help me

Not 100 % sure, but I think as long as it's in the company's name then it shouldn't be a problem.

If you going to lease a car via your business for your wife to drive would it not be a good idea to talk it over with your accountant first.

    Also, are you VAT registered?
  • Hi thanks for the replies. No im not vat registered andits not for being able to claim back any vat its just that the prices r cheaper than personal leasing. My business name is just my name so will this be possible? ? Thanks again

I wonder if the insurance maybe an issue. Is she employed by you? Do you pay her wages with a proper payslip and tax etc?

If you can put it in your name and they allow additional non business drivers or spouses then just make sure before you sign anything.

How much are you saving? Are you sure the prices are not just excluding VAT?

To me, the majority of leasing companies (but admittedly not all) use the model of business price = personal price + VAT so (in the majority of cases) it really makes no odds. Can you post the deal you are after?

By the sounds of things, I would keep it personal if you're not VAT registered.
