Problems with Skype.

I'm having problems with Skype and would be grateful if anyone could give me some idea what to do.
I first had trouble a few days ago and in the end deleted it thinking i would start again, but for some reason i can't get it downloaded. I wonder could it have anything to do with Skype and Microsoft joining forces.
Earlier today i downloaded it again, all Ok and it came up on the screen where you have that moving blue line where it says ....please wait while Skype is being installed, this may take a few minutes.
Well that was hours ago and i've just turned it off.
When it wouldn't load this morning i wondered did i have some sort of security which was blocking so after lunch i turned the Firewall off but all afternoon and still no luck.
Any ideas ?

What are you trying to install Skype on? Is it a PC, notebook, MAC, iPhone? And which operating system are you using, Windows Vista/7/8, MAC Snow Leopard, etc? Do you have administrative rights on your device? A lot of questions I know but there are so many combinations of issues that can cause this problem.0

I finally got it sorted. I've got a desktop and Vista. I must have been a week of more. What made it worse was Firefox kept crashing. Over the weekend i emailed Skype support (i was getting a message to say 'installation of Skype 6.7 is currently suspended), they asked for a live-chat to verify my identity but i couldn't do that. To get over the Firefox problem (it's still crashing) i've moved over to IE and i think Skype have fixed and released my account from their end.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
