It sounds like they had exactly the same issue which was resolved by replacing the steering module. If you're looking for Skoda advice and are not on that forum already I'd highly recommend it. It's also worth bearing in mind the VW Up! and the Seat Mii are the same cars so it may be worth looking for anyone with steering issues on them and how they've been resolved.
