Getting a new accountant

Probably in the wrong forum, sorry.

I am paying £90 a month for my current accountant which I feel is a bit steep, considering I am a contractor so it is fairly straight forward stuff.

Can anyone recommend another accountant specialised with contractors? Or just another accountant in general?

Apologies if you've already considered this and rejected the idea, but if you're a contractor, then it's not so difficult to do your accounts yourself. Provided your turnover is below a certain amount you don't need to get them signed off by an accountant.

I do contracting via my own limited company and have done my own accounts for about 10 years. Before that I had an accountant who charged £700 p.a. was never available on the phone, and one year submitted my accounts late and I was fined. I sacked him and never regretted it!
