For the main reason that lots of ASTs forbid running a business from home.

I get it now when you called me a troll you also thought I was someone else?

Probably the wrong place to ask.
Most of us on here can't afford a house and if you look at our signatures currently owe on average more than £500 to littlewoods.

    Now I am really confused?

What has littlewoods got to do with anything or have I missed the point?
And do the majority of posters on here not own property? Just asking, not flaming.

Okay, I admit, that made me laugh!

  • I would invest the £1m and rent a nice place.
If you are used to living in a million pound house, I am not sure you are going to be that happy in a 1 bed flat!

Buy again in 2 years when prices were lower.

If you're retiring, you could always move to a cheaper area.

I'm guessing you live somewhere in the SE or SW, how about a move northwards? I highly recommend Yorkshire :D

I'm in South Manchester and I want to stay in the same area - grand children and family.
A bungalow could cost you £700,000
Not that I particularly like this one: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-14285620.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy
I will be renting for a short while anyway as my house/plot is going to auction.

I do really like parts of Yorkshire its as beautiful as the lakes and often drive out for the day to places like Harrogate and Ilkley.

    That thing's a real McMansion!

I take it that area isn't a Northern Hell Hole then. That's a pretty toppy price.

    McMansion, now that's funny.

I particularly like the single genuine stone (fibreglass) classic column, probably complete with genuine stone effect stud partition walls, but hey, whatever floats your boat. It's not my cup of tea though.
