Outlook

Mu Pc has XP of which Outlook Express is standard. I installed the XP Office Pro yesterday and included the full Outlook software and told my PC to use this as a dafult. However after doing this every time I shut down I had a message saying WMS Idle unable to shutdown blah blah. I did a bit of research on the net and found a few people saying that it is because of two Outlooks running. I uninstalled the Outlook Pro and re-enabled Outlook Express and the error disappeared and everything was lovely.

Does anyone know if I can install the Outlook pro so that I don't get this error or should I just leave alone.

I found this, don't know if it's relevant to your situation:

"I found that going to MSCONFIG and removing NMBgMonitor (which is a Nero Essentials component) from Startup, removed the WMS Idle failing to quit. More importantly removing that Nero file from startup, allowed Windows XP to shutdown ten times faster. I have removed Nero from my computer and it runs perfectly now. Perhaps only a corrupted file, who knows, but bye bye WMS Idle."

Have to say this isn't typical, I've used Outlook for years and not had a problem with it. I've only had occasional problems with other programs trying to interfere with it. (eg zonealarm installing outlook plugin without my consent)

I have actually installed the Nero Essentials as it came with my PC. What about if I uninstalled it and put my old Nero 6 on?

tell you what I've done. I have disabled the file you mentioned so I am going to load back on the Outlook Pro and see what happens. Speak to you in a mo.

You could try that. I actually have Nero 6 installed and Outlook 2003 and they've never conflicted with each other. If it still causes a problem you can always reinstall Essentials if you want to. Personally I've found version 6 to be perfectly adequate.
