How much money to take to Barbados

Hey everyone,
Me and my Gf will soon be going to Barbados for a week. We are going all-inclusive and we have pre-paid our transports from and to the airport and also for a catamaran day trip but I'm not really sure of:
1. How much money to take in Barbados Dollars (or would I be better off taking US as they might prefer it?
2. How much to take UK as this is less of an issue.
As I say, we have pre-paid most things and are only there for a week but we may take the odd trip to the local shops and possibly another day trip (although nothing else really took our fancy when looking through the excursions on expedia) so what might we actually need money for. Obviously we would need a bit of cash for if we do leave the hotel for lunch/taxis, etc and if we do anything more extravagant I can use my english money/have it exchanged or I also have a halifax credit card which is free to use in other countries (but is this safe?). Am I best to have any money for tips and if so how much should I plan to take. The only places I can imagine might have to tip is in the hotel at some of the food places (maybe not - not really sure) and possibly to the crew on the pre-paid catamaran day.
Does anyone think taking $100 Barbados (which is only £30 odd) and £200 english would be fine with my credit card as back up or should I take a bit more or should I just go with the couple hundred UK and can exchange what I want and if not there is no need to exchange back?
Cheers,
Tom

We are just back from Turtle Beach. Take a small amount of dollars, $100 is more than enough. We withdrew cash as we needed it (which wasn't often and we still have some left).
You will be quoted in dollars, just always ask if they mean US or Barbados Dollars.0 -
thanks, I think I will just pick up $100 from a local travel agent then and take the rest in English cash:)0
