NEFF dishwasher not filling with water - S9151F

Options
Hi, would appreciate any help.

I have a NEFF S9151F which has gradually been delivering poor results. It has since stopped disintegrating the little tablets and washing the dishes effectively. I have removed all filters and cleaned them, checked the little white propeller which is unobstructed and pressed the reset buttons all to no avail.

When I start the program, I can hear the pump trying its best but when I open the door there is only a pathetic dribble of water coming out of the lower spray arm. I have checked the valve from the mains and it is providing water so the problem starts at the machine end I guess.

Any ideas on diagnosing the problem and how to resolve it for an averagely competent DIY person with no specialist equipment.

Many thanks.

Have you removed and cleaned the spray arms?
Otherwise it sounds like an inlet valve problem.

  • Hi Macman,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have cleaned out the spay arms and there are no blockages. Could you expand on the water inlet valve you mentioned and how you could access It and unblock it?

    Many thanks.

You've most likely got gunge in the pipework or in the matrix - all internal to the machine. Machine will have to come out to address it and it will involve a certain amount of dismantling and reassembly. You up to trying that? Alternatively the yellow pages is over there ---->

    Cheers

  • Cheers Macman, yes I'm up for dismantling the required pieces. Just removed the machine from under kitchen unit and was working out where to start next so your response has come just at the right time. Although I know very little, the machine was brand new 2 years ago and my wife never clears the plates properly so I too reckon there is gunk in a pipe somewhere.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

Unscrew the inlet water hose from the on / off valve.
Sometimes there is a fine gauze filter in there.
It will be inside the bit that screws onto the pipe.
Could be the first thing to look for.
