Surely the fact that I'm no longer in the dmp and that there shown as satisfied should make some impact?

In settling the DMP you've turned the corner. Until you've had a sufficient period of time (as determined by the lenders) with a squeaky clean credit record. You will not meet the criteria for obtaining a mortgage. Lenders will wish to see that you've learnt your lesson and can handle your financial affairs in a responsible manner. The larger the deposit you save by the time you apply the easier you'll find it I should add.

    1) no mainstream/high street lender is going to touch you at the moment.
    2) Possible options with non-mainstream/subprime but not many. How much deposit do you have saved up?

We're buying our council property so we have £75000 discount which can be taken as a deposit

I would suggest posting on the mortgage forum for a response from a mortgage broker.
Discount/deposit aside, you will still not be able to obtain one from any highstreet/mainstream lender due to the adverse credit.
