    From an EDF bill,
Having reviewed your account, we estimate that your energy costs have not quite been covered by your monthly payments of £xxx.00.
This could be because the price you pay for your energy has gone up or you've simply used more than we predicted.
We've incorporated this balance into your projected costs for next year. However, with your level of usage at the price on your tariff,
we predict that your payment of £xxx.00 will cover your usage.
    We've left it the same.
    Must make sense to someone:rotfl:

    You misunderstand.

You still pay by DD but quarterly with each bill as it is presented. The 6% discount is applies as before.

You avoid the increase in DD amounts which s due to estimation and rounding which EDF calculate un the last three month usage and pro-rata it for the next 12 months, increasing your monthly charges which may not be required.

I don't think I have misunderstood. According to EDF 'There will be a 6% discount if you pay by monthly fixed amount Direct Debit'. No discount if you pay quarterly, even if it is by direct debit.

They put mine up after a month!

I had to ring them up and get them to put it back down to the agreed amount.
