I have a car and my wife is down as a named driver on the insurance
My wife is getting a car in a couple of weeks and needs to add me as a named driver
I see on my recent insurance renewal that I am not allowed to use my NCD on more than one car - similarly, I assume my wife will be affected
What does this mean for our insurance costs on the second car ?
We both have over 12 years NCD..

As a named driver your wife has no NCD whatsoever. Some insurance companies will take her no claims record as a named driver into account when she tries to insure a car in her own name and allow a year or two NCD.

You will need to hunt around to find one that does this.

What about me as a named driver on her policy
I have12 years ncd (according to my recent renewal) - will that transfer across ?

Nope as a named driver you can not bring an NCD to a policy. Even if you could you would also lose it on your vehicle as an NCD only covers a single vehicle at any one time.

Definitely shop around for the 2nd car insurance. When me and my x both had cars, they mirrored my NCD onto his car, cos he'd been driving on mine for several years.

My own insurance renewal is due on 01.09 and I had just taken out a policy with "Quote me happy" which is an Aviva subcompany
I have spent the last 10 mins, trying to find a working "contact us" button/email address to ask them for advice (they appear to offer a dual car policy for same address) - but I can't find a way of contacting them - the contact us button takes you anywhere but..
They must have an email address ??

    Actually - I am amazed
I have just done a quote run on this site and for my wife with 0% ncd & myself as a named driver - it costs from £178 pa
My own policy (with 9 yrs ncd) - in an identical (though 2 year old) car was £146 !!
