Thoughts on Leather and favric sofas

Options
My living room is small and due to the shape we can't fit an L-shaped sofa in. The plan now is a three seated sofa and just one arm chair.

I'm are thinking off the fabric fondant sofa from dfs ( http://www.dfs.co.uk/sofas/offers/fondant/) with a leather recliner from the st lucia range at furniture village (http://www.furniturevillage.co.uk/Inventory/Upholstery/HTL-St-Lucia/Chair.aspx). The sofa is silver/grey and the recliner would be deep brown.

Any thoughts please?

This might just be my family but we have something similar and it's a pain tbh.

I first thought the lounger part would be good but after a few months of use we all seemed to be suffering from backache.

It's not the most practical style of sofas, you don't have a choice but to sit back with legs up. If you have visitors, it might be a problem.

Our next sofa will be an 'ordinary' one with a large square footstool, this will give us more flexibility. We can still have that 'look', we can still use it as a lounger or we can use it as a normal seat.

Of course this might not bother or affect others at all, just thought I'd mention so you can consider whether it might be an issue for you to consider or not. :)

The sofa itself is nice though.

    Hi

I'm with aliasojo on this one. My living room is not too small but it ain't big either. What it is is a funny shape and I've not got one clear wall, every wall has something in it, ie; window, door, stairway, fireplace, so I'm stuck on getting 3 seater furniture in as it looks off balance.

I would have loved a corner unit but compromised and got a 2 x 2 seaters with 1 footstool to match from John Lewis. Footstool comes into its own when visitors arrive as it can be moved around for additional seating. I also find that if I sit on the sofa where the stool is and I use it, that I end up with twinges in my back. Don't know why that happens but there you go.

    Best of luck with choosing.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

What about a replica Eames lounge chair and ottoman, the cost would be about the same?
