This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Another day, another dollar!
Sammy-cat woke me at 5:45am and as I'm happy to get up at 6am it didn't seem worth trying to get back to sleep. Even if he would have let me!
Today is grocery shopping day as we have Farmers' Markets three Saturdays each month. It's a while since I've been to one as I've just been ordering online from Messrs S, A and T but I do rather miss doing my own shopping. I don't miss dragging the bags up the stairs though. I've put my list through my supermarket dot com and it looks like a split shop with visits to Mr S and Mr A. Hopefully the Market will furnish me with apples and salad bits.
SC is making Chickpea Pasta Sauce. Cauliflower Pasta Sauce made the other day is absolutely delicious and def. something I'll make again. DW is on. Laundry is up to date.
Let the day begin!Household: Laura + William-cat

Hi all,
Busy day today! Off to Aldi and Asda in a bit, only need cheese and pizza bases (Making pizzas for tea, and for these particular ones the Napolina pizza bases in a box are best!)
Off to Costco this morning for BF's dad's birthday beer, then BF's mum is coming round for a coffee. She's helping to organise the fun day I have a stall at on Monday, so she's just going to let me know last bits of info ready for then. Rest of the day will be spent prepping for tomorrow's craft fair!
Need to put WM and DW on, so I could probably do that now before Aldi opens!
Hope you all have a good day!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -

Horrible weather here, I hope this is not on for the day as have a laundry basket full of clean washing to get dry and another load in the washing machine.
DD and GDD coming to stay tonight and the house still looks like a tip so better get on to it. Have a couple of ebay and Amazon parcels to post and a tax rebate cheque to put in the bank.
Not sure what to make for dinner yet so need to get some inspiration. Will watch Saturday kitchen while I am tidying!
Better get a move on so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super day

Morning All
A bit overcast here, hoping it clears up as I have washing to go out and would like to tidy the garden. The grass was cut on Thursday evening but all the hedges and shrubs need a trim with the hedge cutter. Just hope I have enough room in the bin for all the trimmings!
DD has gone off to work and I need to pay a visit to H0me B@rgains so will do that soon, just need to have a shower first.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Morning All,
Beautiful day here and good forecast for the weekend.
Getting gathered up to travel 200 miles South to stay with cousins for the weekend. They have a big farmhouse so plenty of spare rooms. We are bringing DGS with us, he just loves the freedom the farm gives him and I think his favourite bit is feeding the cattle. He is only 3, no fear, which is just as well considering the size of the cattle!
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend everyone :beer:0 -
Morning all,
Tipping with rain here, started about 10 mins ago and the roads are struggling with the amount of water already, small floods down the road ! No washing out today then !
OH has gone to the boot sale but I should imagine he will be home very soon ! Then we need to carry on with the stripping, should be quicker with two, only one and a third walls to go, then thats the worst bit out of the way. OH needs to get some plasterboard to go over the fireplace that I knocked out too.
Burger in a bun with wedges and sweetcorn for dinner. Will get OH work clothes washed and on the airer.
Thundering here now, Little dog is terrified, bless her.
Have good days all, Nar have a nice weekend away xx0 -
Mornin all
Still cloudy but not as dark as first thing so I might get some washing out. Want to get as much done as possible so today so can leisurely pack for holiday on Monday.
Collected my eBay curtains. The colour is a perfect match and the length is spot on. They were 99p. The only down side is that they are way too wide, each curtan is 3m. So another job to do!
Will pick up laptop later (when girls surface), as they did not ring I presume it will only be 25.
Slow cooker is on for tea. Spaghetti Bol. Trying to finish up the odds and ends. Went to shop for milk yesterday and bought everything but the milk.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Ds2 has gone off to gf family for the weekend they are going to watch a polo match with a champagne picnic they move in very different circles than us :rotfl: they are lovely people:D
And dd and DGS wil, be here shortly. It's gay pride in Manchester today so will pick up my daughter as public transport will be awful.
Usual cleaning and cooking. Hubby was planning to plaster the ceiling but his back went yesterday so I'm hoping he will rest, I won't hold my breath he is terrible at sitting around.

Morning all!
Good wee night out last night, left the car at my friends house, so will need to pop over for that soon. Will need to pop to the supermarket for a couple of bits, am attempting the shepherds pie from Rick Steins new taste of india book, looks good and hopefully will taste the same! Will feed me, DD, her BF and my brother for about £5, so much cheaper than an indian takeaway!
Right, better get dressed and go for the train, have a good day all!RIP Iain
