When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Saturday

• Work 6:30-3:30 done
• Take breakfast and lunch to work done
• Check banking done
• Check Ebay accounts done - few things finishing tonight!!
• Check Etsy done
• Check surveys done
• Finish orders done
• Finish packing up orders done
• Small drop of ironing done
• List at least 10 things on Ebay (free listing weekend) done

Sunday

• Work 7-1:15 done
• Take breakfast to work forgot, also forgot phone and purse!!
• Check banking done
• Check Ebay accounts done - lots of sales today
• Check Etsy done
• Check surveys done
• Pack up any orders done
• Washing on and hung up inside to dry done
• List at least 10 things on ebay

Morning all,
Fairweather poster here, thanks LPS for starting us off.

This is me today:
- Work 8-2pm for £100 over time
- Collect Mr T's shop on free click and collect 2-4pm. I drive past to get home, so leave work and collect.
- Checked banks, payday yesterday so OK at present!
- Paint section in sister's bedroom before she moves in tomorrow Paint from stores
- Brought sister's car into work to be valeted (FOC) before she sees it for the first time tomorrow
- Washing on the airer when I get home, not brave enough to risk it on the line this morning!
- DB3 and his friend coming over this PM for my advice on house stuff, bills etc! They have a completion date for their new build but won't tell me until later!!!
- Pressure OH into choosing a TV, when the above happens, DB3 wants his TV back!
- Put house rabbit's new cage together and bring him back indoors, he doesn't belong outside and hasn't been entirely happy out there
- Price up party shop for next weekend and check what I have in stores already

Other than all that stuff I will be generally cleaning and getting the house ready for the people decending on me tomorrow evening

Hurrah to the BH weekend :j sooooooo exciting to have 3 days off. My db & girlfriend are coming for dinner tonight. Tomorrow we are going to a local festival in the day (got tickets off of Travelzoo so only cost £4 each :T) and then in the evening we are picking dgd and having her until Tuesday am, and an old friend is coming round for dinner in the evening - lovely times :beer:

Things for today:

* checked banking
* updated ss
* get receipts off of oh for GC spends over the last week and add up totals
* make sauce for lasagna & a tomoato, onion & cucumber salad for tonight
* go pick some black berries from the garden for an apple & BB crumble
* raining today so looks like gonna stay in
* clean bathroom & kitchen
* put up blinds in kitchen
* spend some time sewing

Think that's about it for today. Hope you all have a great weekend x

Morning Gang!!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the bank holiday weekend already!!
Woken up in an incredibly good mood considering I've only had 4 hours sleep!!
Not much of a weekend for me - shameless money-grabbing at work as its notoriously busy and overtime is readily available - so might as well make the most of it!!

Today's plans:

Check banking - roll on payday is all I can say!!

NSD - meals from stores and take grub to work for later

Have been offered to pull a double shift - so working 5pm-7am :eek: a long one, but will be SO worth it for the money! Extra 5hrs should be a good £100 after deductions

Watch OH play in a touch rugby tournament later - I can't play because of work now, but will still go and cheer my girls on!!

Probably won't get much downtime at work tonight, but if I do in the morning I'll have a look at Adpoints and Swagbucks etc.

Plan next month's budget - should be getting a chunk of overtime - but also aiming to save £1000 of our wages for holiday fund and ISA... Might leave us a bit tight elsewhere, but we're making hay while the sun shines, and that makes me happy!!!

Think that's it for today - hoping there's some more OT on offer for tomorrow which I will grab if I can!

Hi Weekend Money savers,
Positive actions today:
*mr f DID get the grocery shopping in on budget, including a bottle of beer & a scrummy looking bar of caramel sea-salt fairtrade chocolate :-)
*Baked poppy seed rolls & long crusty rolls for hot dogs later.
*Great minds think alike, DNMS, as I've also made a blackberry & apple crumble using our windfall apples & the blackberries that were poking through our hedge from neighbours. Cost to grocery bill = 1 small pot of cream @ 62p, MUCH cheaper option than buying in a naughty fancypants dessert for BH treat!
*Baked semolina cake & filled with my home made rhubarb jam. Cost to grocery budget = 1 pack of basics butter.
*mr f has started painting the lobby & downstairs loo. Did NOT get seduced by colour charts. Picked the colour we have most of in the shed & we're using that. Did not need new brushes, as washed brushes out properly last time!! How we've reformed.....
*Registered for IPSOS MORI surveys. Did some Toluna & Onepoll surveys while I was briefly in the mood.
*Filled in short online Waitrose feedback survey for prize draw entry (Prize is £500 shopping voucher, so worth the few mins it took me)
*Watered greenhouse veggies. By the looks of the weather forecast, i.e the big greeny/bright blue bit with flashes right over where we live, I think the outdoor veggies will get plenty to drink today without my help!
*Home made soup from freezer for lunch.
*Dinner as per meal plans.

There is engineering work today and for the next few days on six main Freeview transmitters and relay transmitters. Much of Scotland is affected and some parts elsewhere: if you lose your signal it's probably not your tv!

Morning all, wasn't online at all yesterday! Was busy making food and going to the park!

Today we have a cheap shopping trip to do and a birthday party to go to! We've got all our food for the day in the fridge cooked from yesterday (golden cauliflower soup, which is amazing and a chocolate chilli)

Listed 4 things on eBay yesterday and checked free postcode lottery and finally sewn on the tags into dd1 uniform :T

Today I'm hoping to list 10 more items and get some sewing done!

Hi everyone :hello:

I'm a bit of a rubbish place right now - really need a car to get to/from my classes (just been asked to take over another established class too so great opportunity but is hard to get to on public transport) but I don't think I can face car finance - we'd be looking at an hp agreement over 60 months as that's the only sort of thing we could work into the budget - but the thought of doing something like that makes me feel physically sick _pale_



Wonder how much I can get a little run around for...

There's more pressure on me now from family too because they all know about my big pay rise - they're clearly wondering why I STILL can't afford to buy a car. Can't tell them how useless I am with money - how embarrassing
