3D in it's current form ie with glasses was always going to be a niche market for those who must have the latest thing.
Even now when you can get 3D tv's for £300 the majority aren't interested.
As for 4k,by the time it comes down to an affordable price for the masses there will be something else ready to take it's place,like flexible screens or something.
The next ground breaking change in tv technology (like colour was over b+w) is anyones guess and is many years away from being ready for market...in my opinion

just finished a Harry Potter marathon ^_^
Watched "HalfBlood Prince" on ITV then watched the last 2 "Deathly Hallows" movies back to back in 3D ^_^Laters
