Laptop freezing, please help with hijacklog

Hello,
Can some one please help me with sorting my sons laptop, I have no clue where to start. The laptop is 9 months old. Couple of months ago we had to send it to acer as something went wrong and eventually they have fixed it. But now it takes ages to load and freezes when you try to click on things.
I see everyone is posting there Hijacklog, but I can even find the right site to downloaded! :-(

I tried, but it seemed to come up with cleaning stuff and no log.
Can somebody post the right website where to downloaded from, please.

backup data, create recovery cd, and factory restore using restore partition (acer erecovery), and it should be working in 30 minutes, instructions in speedup sticky above, along with hijackthis links/instructions - (which you won't need if you are happy to factory restore it).

do you mean two antivirus? I am not actually which ones they are, but I expect one has been added trying to do the log.
Can you tell me which one to take off and how?
Or will it be easier to go back to factory settings? but that will wipe out the pictures.

You can save the pictures and data to another hard drive or to DVD before running a Factory Restore. But remove AVG first to see if it improves matters.

closed

uninstall delta search, browser defender, wajam, smartbar/browser infrastructure helper and avg, google toolbar, bing toolbar

go into internet explorer and chrome and disable all toolbars/add ons (avast also has a browser cleanup function under tools menu)

install malwarebytes free http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/, scan and fix anything found

if any of the above remain after scanning with malwarebytes, scan with adwcleaner http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ (adwcleaner.exe is the download)

run chkdsk c: /F to check the disk out.

if there are still problems after the above, try creating another user account in control panel.

does the battery hold charge well?

if you do end up going down the factory restore route, backup your data in two places, make sure you can read them, and create the acer dvd before doing it.

when installing any software in future, pay attention to bundled toolbars/browser extensions and decline them. .. and backup properly with macrium free.
