Anyone got a recent V11 Car Tax/SORN reminder?
Options
Evening all,
Anyone got a recent V11 Car Tax/SORN reminder?
If you still have it could you tell me does it still state for a SORN declaration it can it still be posted to your nearest DVLA registered postoffice with the address of this postoffice listed? and if so how recent is this V11?
I am 100% certain when I declared my SORN by post 2 months back this was an option, and DVLA are now trying to fine me £40 if paid in 3 weeks or £80 if over 3 weeks  for not declaring my SORN.
Thanks in advance
Paul

I received a car tax reminder that expired 31st May
To declare SORN:
Please put a X in the SORN box on the front of the form and hand in to any licence issuing Post Office branch or send to the postal branch on the front of this form. Do NOT separate/tear this form.
SORN - It's quick and easy:
Online https://www.direct.gov.uk/taxdisc
or by phone 0870 850 44440 -

Sorry, I beg to differ. Quick and easy are not the words that come to mind. I've had a tax disc reminder, with a big yellow panel that declares "All you need is the Reference number ..." and quotes a 16 figure number. No matter how I enter this number (with or without spaces) it isn't accepted. The alternative I'm given is to ring an 0870 number, which will effectively tax me for trying to pay my tax.
When I navigate away from the page (to get to MSE Forums!!) I get a questionnaire that asks my why I didn't complete (I choose "Had a problem with the system") and a couple of useless questions about whether I'm likely to use the system in the future and how good it was up to this point. There's a box for comments, but if you take too long writing your comments it times out and you have to start again. There's no space for a name, address, email address, phone number or anything helpful.
Okay, I know I can go and rummage through my car documents and find my logbook and use that information instead, but that's not the point. My tax pays for this system and it doesn't work.£2 coin savers club: £1.49

Thanks Conor and ioscorpio - I didnt receive confirmation of my SORN so ended up paying the fine and a backdate as I couldn't prove the SORN.
I explained to them they should make this clearer under the option to post your SORN
in (ie. if you dont receive confirmation in 4 weeks contact them) oh well £60 down the pan!0 -
