I wont be getting another cleaner. I trusted this lady and she let me down badly. I paid her 9 pounds an hour and always gave her a lovely birthday and Christmas present. I always fitted in with her plans. She is raking it in - not me taking advantage.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Round my way all the private house cleaners are paid cash-in-hand. I doubt if any of them bother declaring it as most do it as a 2nd job.

Molly, Sorry you had this happen.
Thing is and as others have said , your cleaner is supplying a service for which you are paying. It is a business arrangement..
No more presents .. your cleaner comes and does the job when you want her to come not when it suits her. If she can't meet these basic requirements, then she should not be offering a service.
    xx
