Is someone helping with your posts? You appear to have an excellent grasp of English and spelling.

Hum. Many people with learning difficulties can type their feelings, but when it comes to verbally expressing them then they can get muddled. When you have been around people with special needs as long as I have then this is quite apparent. Ann Frank once said ‘paper is more patient then man‘, she was right.
Did you phone ATOS to confirm they have received your form?

Not yet but I have asked for a Dr’s letter which is being collected on the Friday before I can send the form off, what difference it will make will probably not be much.
Why people have taken the time to focus on your grasp of English rather than this is shocking to me...

Well their not used to people with special needs are they. I know a girl who has the mind of an eight year old yet people stare openly at her and laugh which makes me very angry
Did anyone report this?! It's no surprise people are frightened of the various trials that being on what incapacity benefit is now. It was frightening enough when I was on it before it all changed

It was two women who kept calling her a retard. It had been reported but I don’t know what’s happening after that. My friend was told by the tutor that he didn't have time to sit down with her to help her read news papers (she can’t read anyway so more fuel for the idiots to tease her about)

These two stupid women picked on her because she was an easy target, why is it that ignorant narrow minded !!!!!! love victimising people with special needs? It makes me sad.
They're supposed to be HELPING the most vulnerable people in this country, not throwing them into an environment which hurts them more. How completely disgraceful.!

It’s a sad fact of life but it happens.
It is possible to take someone with you to the assessment, however ATOS would not be able to arrange this - it is up to the claimant to sort this themselves.

This is happening to maker sure ATOS don’t get up to any of their antics, but I'm still in for it. :(
  • Do you have a learning disability (IQ under 70) or Specific learning difficulties which is basically dyspraxia and dyslexia?

If you have a learning disability you may be entailed to help from your local community learning disability team.

I was told it was about 89, have to look to see if there is a community learning disability team.

An IQ of 89 is too high for CLDT input, its got to below 70 but it really depends if they used the Wechsler III IQ test which is the standardised IQ testing which psychologists use. If you are eligible for LD input they'll give you another IQ test and see what it is and if you get below 70 you'll have a learning disability, depending where you are of course, some places its below 77 as they deal with people with borderline learning disability.
