My ipod won't work, it makes me sad!

My ipod won't work, its an old 40Gb click wheel with none colour screen.
When I turn it on you can hear it trying to read but just clicks. The apple logo comes on then the little ipod logo with the apple website address.

Do I need to take it to an apple agent, or is their something I can do to sort it out myself?

You'll need some tools for this, either a large 12lb sledge hammer or a car.
Place the iPod on the ground and hit with the sledgehammer or drive over it with the car. Hey presto, the iPod should no longer make that annoying clicking sound and should be totally silent!

clicking suggests the hard drive inside it has broken and needs to be replaced

Bad news is, it sounds brokes.

The good news is that iPods break the whole time, so people have lots of ideas for what to do with them when they do.
