We are busy packing , completion set 22nd Yippeee....
Question is , taking down pictures etc, is it the norm to remove hooks, nails etc and 'make good' or let new buyer do that?
Also we have a seagrass carpet , worth a bloody fortune. It has a stain, convieniently under the coffee table however buyer has not seen it or not mentioned it. Once the furniture is out it may be more noticeable, is there anything he can do? I.e try to claim off us. It was done like 6 months ago but seagrass is a git for stains and ...........baby = stain.
think thats it, but will shout if i think of anything else.

As far as I'm aware no they can't claim for stains. I expect that they will do the same as you have and hide it!
I would leave hooks and nails etc so that new owners can put up their own pictures or remove and make good if they require.
When we moved into our flat there were thousands of nails in the wall from pictures and we had to put our faces against the wall to see them all to remove!!!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Nothing they can do about the stains. Just a shame. I had to leave a big pink stain in the middle of my bedroom once where some conditioner exploded. I paid to have it professionally cleaned but it still didn't come out properly. I still feel bad but there's no way I would have bought a new carpet for a 12' x 22' room! The house wasn't sold as being brand new, so I guess you have to live with these things. A rug is cheaper than carpet. At least it didn't honk of cat wee like my first flat. When we pulled up the carpet there were patches all over the underlay!
I would cover any drill holes where screws have been, I do admit to leaving picture hooks as I quite like them to be left for me - it means I can store the pictures off the floor when we move in, even if it's not exactly the right position. I might be wierd though; my pictures are very important to me!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We are finally moving on the 29th (hurrah). I was planning to polyfilla all nail and screw holes, and as I always keep leftover paint when decorating, I was going to spot-paint over all repairs. Are you suggesting they might prefer me not to bother?Been away for a while.0

Why not ask them? Just say you were going to remove all the hooks, fill the holes etc., but would you prefer we left them up on the wall. Might save yourself a bit of work.0
