I want to upgrade my Laptop Memory. It takes in PC2700 200pin and has two slots. Currently I have 256MB x2 and I want to get one with 1GB to that I can run my laptop faster.
I have seen one for £44.76 inc vat and delivery at dabs.com
If anyone know any cheaper one please advice.
Also, I'd like to know if I get a PC3200 200pin 1GB memory instead of PC2700, would that be compatible with my Laptop?
Please advice.
Many thanks in advance.

PC3200 should work (just run slower than its PC3200 speed) but doesn't always.0

Would that mean I could get a cheaper one of PC5300 200pin 1GB instead and they would still be compatible?
Thanks in advance0 -
Use the Crucial memory adviser or system scanner to find compatible memory, then see if ebuyer has it cheaper.0

I used Crutial but there's no mention of whether PC5300 would be compatible with PC2700.
It says there, that I need a PC2700 200pin and its too expensive. Ebuyer = £49.99 inc VAT and Crutial its £70.49 inc. VAT for a 1GB.
I was thinking that if PC5300 was compatible then i could get that as its cheaper0 -
PC5300 is DDR2, PC2700/3200 is DDR. They are different types of memory. You will need to buy DDR memory for your laptop, as DDR2 will not fit.

If you're replacing both of your 256MB sticks for a single 1GB stick, you might find it cheaper to get a pair of 512MB sticks instead. There's no performance difference between 1x1GB and 2x512MB.0
