Hi taff, in the ops original post the year this was taken out was Jan 05, hope it was on or after the 14th as the FSCS can help.

    well spotted :)

  • The loan agreement was signed by us on 1/3/05 before posting it off to First Plus. The discussions on the loan and the agreement must have taken place in the latter part of January 2005.

Is it significant that the signing date was after the 15th of January 2005?

Do you think that signing and sending an original document directly to First Plus, for them to 'rubber stamp' and agree on the loan is sufficient evidence to incriminate First Plus? After all they should have, for example, noticed the disparity in the 30 year term of the loan against 5 year life of the PPI.

Taff - Do you mean we should make certain the utterly useless PPI claim company is gotten rid of ? That we should write to them and get them to acknowledge the fact they are sacked in case they claim 30% of the compensation at a later date ?

Thanks again for the help and advice ! Its much appreciated !!!! :T

    Yes, that's what I mean.

And the date is significant because they won't have been regulated prior to Janaury 14th 2005 and as such, could have dismissed your complaint. It would also have meant that you couldn 't use the FOS if you disagreed with their decision or used the FSCS if the original company that sold it to you had gone bust before that.

    I wouldnt...
I would change the first sentence to relect that they have told you there is no PPI therefore you have no need of their services and give them notice of cancellation of your contract.

No point in letting them know you know.

Also, I would delete that post too because I'm just that paranoid.....why alert someone needlessly?

    I didn't think of that.

Make sure that you let the FSCS know that you are not using a third party when you have this in writing from the claims co.
  • I will, thanks.
