Buying a new car with free insurance?
I'm looking at buying a new car that comes with 1 year or more free insurance, as I'm a new driver I've been quoted extortionate prices for insurace.
One firm quoted me £2500 with pass plus on a 1.2ltr vauxhall worth £500 doing 15,000 miles per year. Even with shopping around it shouldn't fluctuate too much, which is kind of excessive. I can't really do the named driver route as I live away from home, and the car will be used solely by me.
Mileage will probably be quite high as the job I'll be doing will require me doing a lot of driving. So I don't want to spend over £10,000 on the car - the lower the better. Don't care about looks/brand, just want something to get me from A-B.
Been looking around with not much luck so far, so if anyone could help I would really appreciate it - thanks.

As you are a new driver, with no NCB, you should look for an older car which you can insure Third Party, Fire & Theft without the worry of losing a significant amount of money if you cause an accident.
Insurance is going to be costly in your position, I currently insure a Ford Ka full comp, with 1 years NCB, I'm over 25 and it costs £800.
How about an older small car? Seicento Sportings are available for less than 1k, even an older Corsa.
Spending 10k on a Corsa is silly, if you must buy a Corsa my inlaws just bought a 3 year old one for 4.5k.0 -
How old are you Jarlawak? Its only because most of these "free insurance" deals have a cap on age. Typically you need to be over 21 (or in some cases higher) to qualify for the deal. Check the small print!Lack of money is the root of all evil.

Seicento? For alot of miles, and probable motorway miles? My mother has a Seicento, and I would not want it on the motorway on a regular basis!
I presume your putting on your insurance quote that you need it for business use etc? What business use is it for as that will also increase/decrease the price alot.
I'd buy a cheaper car though, and insure it TPFT. I'm just about to hit 2 years NCB, and intend to now go Fully Comp as my premiums have dropped so I can afford it! lol.0 -
