Create an association in the Folder Options control panel

Hi everybody,
Could someone be kind enough to help me solve the following problem?

When trying to open a page e.g., https://www.bbc.co.uk using the internet explorer, I am getting the following message everytime , and as a result I can not open any page.

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

I am using XP home edition as OS.

hi..

click on My computer>Tools>Folder Options>File types and scroll down to Html and Htm...when you click either one, at he bottom half of the screen make sure it says " this file opens with Internet Explorer"...

I have just done what you have advised, but still not working.

Any further help?
