I'd look at Travelodge - if you book this much in advance you may well get a really good cheap deal. I have stayed in the Travelodge at Covent Garden for £19 a night in the past. Hotels are a bit basic but comfortable bed, largish rooms usually and a clean working bathroom may well be all you need and will give you more money for food, transport etc.
As others have said, you can always leave luggage in the left luggage in mainline rail stations (doesn't cost much).
If you don't fancy Travelodge other chain hotels such as Premier Inn, Ibis etc may have reasonably priced rooms.
I have stayed in hotels in London quite a lot and often find what I call expensive rooms (£100 or more a night) are not really much better than one of the chain hotels and even at those prices, still don't include breakfast. That's one of the reasons I usually stay in apartments nowThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Hello, can I just add that we went last year and i was stunned at how busy it was. We had to wait in a total crush of humanity until enough people had left for it to be safe enough for more people to enter. It was crazy busy so you might want to go early, avoid eve peak or get people to advise you when is the best time to go.
