bizarre/unexpected/funny ebay parcels...

Hi all,
thought I would start this thread after a recent delivery from ebay. I had ordered an electric fence, but when it arrived it was missing an earthing rod (basically a thick piece of bent metal with a screw attached). I emailed the seller and they immediately appologised and sent the missing piece.
All good so far. I then recieved the item, but.............in the package with it was a large brand new packaged artists paint brush, together with a large permanent magic marker (!) ...........!!!!!!? I was frantically racking my brains as to how these items could possibly be of use in installing an earthing rod for an electric fence? :rotfl:
I now assume they were sent in error, however the seller is an agricultural supplier, and does not sell these items?

So.....what was your oddest, funniest, or most unexpected ebay delivery?

Olias

Never had any unusual ebay deliveries, but if i make an error or have to send a replacement then i will always add a small extra gift in with the replacement.
Have you asked the seller about the extra items?

Unusual freebies/extras I have had from ebay purchases include, a Budhist endless knot, a Russian army shovel and a strip of sachets of lube (which came with a t-shirt????).

Not worth it for the value of the items. Can't see an artistst paintbrush being among an agricultural suppliers box of 'gifts for buyers in case I mess up, lol'.

They may have got this as a gift from 1 of their suppliers. and as you say no use to an agricultural suppliers, so they just placed in their box of freebies to pass on.

As a retailer myself i am surprised at some gifts i get from my suppliers.
The best i got from a supplier was for purchasing 3 gross of alien eggs i got a weekend break in Jersey ( how great that was, i timed it when they has a festival, so booked my stall their, so apart from a break i had a days trading)
The worse for a toy retailer (0 to 12 year olds) was for a gross of fishing nets i got a box of 12 pks of condoms ( these went back to the supplier along with the fishing nets and a strong letter of disgust)

I order some products from China and in every delivery is a gift, usually a related item to something they sell. Lately they have taken to sending bizarre glass ashtrays. They weigh about 1kg each and bear no relation to anything else they sell. I now have 6 of them, I keep trying to give them away but no one wants them!
