She has now made an appointment to see the Solicitor that dealt with it. It was her first house purchase and I think the solicitor should have given her better advice. If only they would teach you things like buying a house in School.0

did you read the document at the link that someone posted earlier
It tells you that you don't need to succumb to this blackmail, but you do have to follow a defined procedure to avoid it0 -

even if they did, leasehold rights are far too complicated to cover0 -
