This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Thank goodness it's Friday!
Exhausted today as worked late last night, so didn't get home until after 8.30pm but hope to finish on time today. Am planning on a quick salad dinner and a flop on the sofa with a film.
Have DD and GDD coming to stay some time over the weekend but not sure when yet, hopefully they will let me know so we can plan something and organise food etc.
Two ebay parcels going by courier today. Why don't Royal Mail realise they are doing themselves out of business with their silly parcel prices? It makes no sense at all.
Better dash so usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning ttftm enjoy your weekend with your family
We are off to sea world today , looking forward to it , dd2 absolutely loves it , so much so when it's her birthday in October she is going there to dive with sharks :T:eek:
We have packed a picnic , should be a lovely day

Good morning
Today is my first day properly back on the MSE-OS wagon and William has come to help - he's sitting watching intently as I type.
DW is on, laundry up to date. Chickpeas have been soaked overnight, boiled this morning and are now in the slow cooker as I need to go out this morning and should go out again this afternoon *and* this evening although I'm not sure the latter two will happen.
This morning's must is buying (I know) a card and gift for my sister who's just passed the final bit of her validation as an Air Traffic Controller. If you're flying into Luton there's a good chance your pilot is talking to her - terrifying thought!
This afternoon's should is a stint at the food bank. Unfortunately I've woken with a nasty headache (feature of Bipolar Disorder) which may or may not disappear if I ignore it while doing the morning must. If it does then I shall go but if it's still here at lunchtime then I shall admit defeat as they want me to help shift food from one location to another and bending and lifting wouldn't be clever. If I don't go then I shall snuggle on the sofa/bed, play here and have an early night.
Technically, I should go to the gym this evening (as that's the only time left in which to do it) but this is a would not a should and if it encroaches upon my Friday treat of a pizza followed by dessert then it won't be happening.
William now has his nose pressed to the screen and is watching my words appear. And people say children are bad for staring at screens all day!
Hope everyone has a super, MSE dayHousehold: Laura + William-cat

Mornin all!
Dd1's mattress came yesterday so she is really pleased and I also found her iPod. I moved the mattress and knocked the clip on canvas pockets at the bottom of the bed and heard something clink.
Whilst blitzing yesterday I wrote a list of what needs to be done today, mainly bits to drop of at people's houses, old glasses to specsavers etc.
We are going away on mon so I will also be looking over my 'master' to do list for the hols. There is still things not been done but due to the amount of clutter I've got rid of The house has a tidy feel if that makes sense. The other jobs I can tackle at weekends between now and Xmas. Then the resolution will be to keep on top of it all. That's the plan anyway!
Hugs to all who need one and have a good'un!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Hi all
Finally reached the end of the week! I've already been out to the post office to collect a couple of parcels and made up our packed lunches for today. Need to drop BF at work then go into town and get my money withdrawn for my float at the 2 craft markets over the weekend. I start work at 11.30, but I always go in for 10.30 when on a late shift. Supposed to finish at 8pm, but I'm the Duty Manager tonight so I won't get away until 8.15 at the earliest. I don't mind, I'm only DM every few weeks!
Looking forward to a 4 day weekend since I have Tuesday off! Tomorrow we need to go to Costco as they currently have a deal on a Beer selection and its BF's dad's birthday on Tues. then Sunday I have the first craft market at a country park, and on Monday it's up to Low Hauxley (near Amble) for their fun day. BF's uncle organised the fun day so I have been offered a stall there, and I will be the only craft stall - lots of children go to the fun day so hopefully I will make some money!
Hope you all have a good day!!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Good morning everyone :j
Saw hubby off to work this morning. He's in a very good mood becauce he's booked next Tuesday off so we have a nice long weekend together. The plan is to take the girls to Plymouth aquarium, I think it will be so much less stressfull with all of us going.
Mr T is delivering sometime between 9 and 10 so I've just decluttered the fridge of a few sausages and a couple of eggs. All in the interest of making the shopping easier to put away....honestly :rotfl::rotfl:Yummy! I have to go and get showered and dressed though as I don't want to scare the driver
Hope everyone has a great Friday and enjoys the Bank Holiday weekend. Take care and as always, gentle hugs for those who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning all,
I spent part of last evening collecting cardboard boxes from round the house to donate to the playscheme next week. I found 6 big ones; admittedly, some had arrived over the last week or so, but ....
We're planning a weekend of painting the garden walls, planting up the donated plants, a bit of sorting in the garage etc. Nice, pottering jobs that will get DH out in the fresh air but won't wear him out. My mum has donated some bright plates for the longest wall - it will be nice to get some colour out there until the plants start growing.
RR - a heron: how lovely! Poor fish
Have the best day you can xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning friends,
Ds3 survived the night in Leeds despite thunderstorms and heavy rain:D seems to be enjoying himself.
I had a terrible migraine last night that made me sick. I've been trying to think what might have caused it. The only new thing I've had lately is coke zero so shall knock that on the head.
Feel much better this morning. My friend is taking me to a local town that has lots of charity shops and we shall have a good natter and put the world to rights.
We plan to get the decorating underway in the living room, would like it done before my brother lands.
My daughter will bring our DGS tomorrow for a visit and shall take him to local park for an hour weather permitting.
I have friends coming for a meal Saturday night. I'm planning baked Camembert, chicken and chorizo stew and rice and probably a trifle for dessert.
Busy weekend but should be fun, have a good day xxStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

My dd suffers really badly with migraines, one of the biggest triggers we have found is coke of any sort ! she has cut it out completly and has been ok for a while, she occasionally has a caffine free coke which seems fine, might be worth you cutting it out for a while xx0
