Querying PPI refund - after receipt

Hi all. I received a refund of some PPI from the C&G on a mortgage I had a few years ago. When I spoke to them on the telephone (while they were assessing my claim), they advised that if they deemed a refund was appropriate, I would be refunded the entire amount of my contributions, plus interest and plus "compensation". I was desperate for money when they sent they offer letter and accepted their offer straight away and they sent me a cheque. However, if what they have advised me was correct, their offer was approx £1,000 short of what I had originally paid. Has anyone else come across this? Should I write to them querying this? Thanks.

When did you receive this refund? Did they provide a breakdown?
Did you accept the redress in full and final payment?
Do you have documentation to show you paid more?

Hi Taff. I don't have documentation relating to how much I paid, but they did confirm I paid it for the entire period that I had the mortgage. I can't remember if I accepted in full and final settlement, I would have assumed so. It was last October.

If you haven't got documentation, I'm afraid you're a bit stuck.
And it's been 10 months since you received it, so even if you ask them to recalculate, the chances are they won't.
Try it, but don't hold your breath.
