Double glazing bay quote?

Hi all, I have never posted on a forum before so please ignore any mistakes!
I had a guy come round today to give me a quote for two square bay windows. Not particularly huge and just very basic white upvc.
It's replacement of the existing which are 1450mm wide, 700mm deep and 1550 high.
There are 5 units in total with two bottom openings and three top openings.
I made the mistake of telling the guy that I had had a quote for £3800 (which was done the phone via google maps) and the new quote came in at £3880, which I'm guessing is not a surprise.
This quote was just for double glazing, but he also said that company had a sale on triple glazing at the weekend and said that this would make a big difference from the road noise....
Is this a fair price or a rip off? The house is pebble dashed (not sure if that matters?) and also does triple glazing really make much differences terms of noise?

Sounds quite a lot to me.
I paid about £1K more than that for 2 bay windows and 5 or 6 other windows too, most with stained glass lights.
Don't know about triple glazing. Are you in a particularly noisy place?0 -
I'm only paying £3,600 for a by and 5 other windows to be installed
A rated, double glazed.0 -
If they're 1550 high then unless you have very high ceilings I guess the cill height is quite low? Perhaps your quote includes safety glass due to the low cill?I am the Cat who walks alone0

Thanks everyone for your help. I rang the company today for a breakdown of the quote. The guy was very shifty and couldn't seem to understand why I would want such a thing. He then asked to ring me back.
When he did it still took some time to explain that having been asked to pay neary 4k I would like to know exactly what implying for. In the end it was load bearing which is fair enough. However, on the breakdown he gave me it comes out at a completely different price to the one that was quoted and was already £500 cheaper! Think we'll be continuing our search
Thanks again all.0
