HildaM, I feel for you, that sounds hideous and exactly what I want to avoid! I'm also dealing with long term sciatica and a prolapsed disc in my spine right now and I can barely walk and literally can't lift anything heavier than a kettle, so I'm about as much use as a chocolate teapot at the moment! Need all the help I can get! On top of that, I'm in hospital next Thurs (day before supposed move) having MRI scans and the like so that's one day less to deal with everything. My BP is normally quite low but imagine it's off the chart right now!!
Thrugelmir, my seller isn't purchasing anything actually. He's a developer who lives elsewhere and he just bought this house to do up and sell on. I don't know if this makes him more or less likely to pull out, but when you're dealing with a madman I doubt it makes much difference...0 -

Let them get on with it!
In an ideal world...yes....but in my world....chase chase chase!!!Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Its just bad service!
I give my clients timescales for everything... i always give myself a grace period so it very rarely extends beyond the date given but if it does i contact my client - if im busy i will drop them an email just to say no update but i will be in touch within in a few days or if not too busy or the client is "a worrier" then i will give them a call and just explain in more depth.
An email takes me probably not even a minute, infact if i wanted i could have a pre made template.
There is no need for it at all. If the solicitor is too busy ask their pa/secretary to do it... being proactive with these things saves you a lot of time in the long run.
But you don't do conveyancing do you?All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
Moonraker - I'd be willing to bet that this Spoilt Brat Vendor you have wouldn't apologise or pay up osteopath costs if he damaged the health of yourself and any friends you rounded up to help with a self-move. Do remember that fact.
I guess there are some people who will take these risks with their health and try and call in favours from everyone they know to assist these Babies to have their way and I can understand why some people get tempted to.
Not easy to tell these Babies where to go. I reckon I'd do it myself and regard it as doing them a favour to put pressure on them to "grow up" and accept there are other people on the planet besides them. But I'm a stubborn little *** and wont risk my health and blood pressure to suit any selfish little so-and-so and would just call their bluff and hope it worked out. But that's me and I appreciate some people will let these Babies stay in their nappies and try and move heaven and earth to suit these characters.
Between a rock and a hard place and I hope it works out for you Moonraker. Fingers crossed for a quick burst of "adulthood" to hit Big Baby Vendor that you've got.0 -
Sure, it was no big deal. They even reckon my Mum may be up and walking again in a few months. Shame about my cousin (RIP)
