How much would British Gas charge to install a new boiler.

Could someone please tell me how much British Gas would charge to install a 26KW combi boiler? We have a floor standing one at the moment.

Many Thanks

About 50% more than a local plumber,
  • And if they work the same as at least one other Big 6 supplier it could be that the plumber down your road could be doing the actual installation on a sub-contracting basis!

Too much, as above shop around. Employ an approved engineer and you'll likely pick up a long warranty too (I know approved Worcester engineers are including seven year warranties at the moment).
  • prob be around 3 grand..

I don't know. Why don't you ask British Gas and see what they quote you?

That really is a 'how long is a piece of string' question.

    Tanks(presumably) have to be removed.

The new combi will be a condensing boiler and a condensate drain required.

Will the Combi have to be re-sited.

Is the gas pipe adequate for a 26kW boiler etc etc.
  • We were quoted £5500 in March for a 28kw Worcester one. That would have been a straight replace with only an additional 2 metres of plastic drainage pipe for the condensate required. Needless to say we did not go ahead. We then found out we qualified for a free replacement via the Energy Savings Trust.
