Ok it's only £5 a year but I didn't want it - I think I might have accepted it by accident at the time- I was able to downgrade it though and no charge has applied.
I don't know if TCB rolled this out to everyone on the same date, so I thought I'd post it in case it helps anyone else if they want to cancel.

Yes, the problems do seem to have started then. I think it got worse the day that it was updated to include Aldi that when all the offers started disappearing randomly0
